NIE introduced its activities and its concept at Eating Insects Detroit, an international conference on the topic of insects as food and feed, on May 27. Attracting a large audience at its expo table, NIE looked for potential, new pilot farmers. Numerous visitors from around the world showed interest in modifying existing facilities into insect farms.

In addition to the general introduction, CEO Santtu Vekkeli gave a speech on May 26, on the subject “Food or feed – and why it matters”.

Santtu and NIE would like to thank the organisers and guests of the conference! It is exciting to see the growth the insect business is experiencing in the United States, as well as globally. New consumer products and scientific discoveries give a good reason to believe that the future lies in insect economy.
